The Story
Balakrishna Madana is a textile designer and illustrator. He was born and brought up in a south Indian village famous for its cotton fields and handloom fabrics. Being the only child in the family, he would often accompany his mother sari shopping and was always amazed by the colourful and vibrant patterns, rich silks and cotton weaves.
His education in India and UK helped him to gain more knowledge and to develop his passion for design. Now he has started the label Krishna Madana, creating exclusive fashion and interior pieces, combining distinctive signature prints and hand embroidery.
His designs are all about the celebration of pattern and colour combined with hand crafted creativity. Each of the designs is unique and stunningly beautiful. His clients love to adorn themselves and their surroundings with exquisite pieces to cherish for years to come.
His first collection takes inspiration from the magnificent Mughal architecture and jewellery. Frequent visits to the flower shows in the UK provide inspiring colour palettes and patterns to feed his imagination. His product range includes luxury silk scarves, cushions and embroidered art.
Krishna Madana is available for freelance fashion, interior projects and commissions.
